WHY DOES IT MATTER FOR HEALTH?
Cockroach droppings, body fragments and secretions can contain allergens that trigger allergy and asthma symptoms in susceptible people. Movement between waste and food areas also matters for hygiene and contamination. Manage hiding places, food and water together without assuming every encounter causes illness.
Yes. Cockroaches can reach clean homes through belongings, packaging or routes within a building. Food, water and sheltered gaps help them establish themselves. Blaming cleanliness alone can overlook entry points and sources around the building.
Kitchens, bathrooms, pipe openings, cupboard joints and warm, narrow gaps can provide shelter. Many species are active mainly at night. Looking only in open areas may miss hidden cockroaches.
Why do water sources matter?
Leaking pipes, damp areas and water left accessible overnight can support cockroaches. Fix leaks, cover food and reduce narrow hiding places together. One measure does not replace the others.
Is dealing with one visible cockroach enough?
Unseen cockroaches and immature stages may remain in hiding places. One sighting does not reveal the full extent. For recurring or widespread problems, combine monitoring and competent pest-control support to assess sources and shelter.
