How many hours does it protect for?
Sinkov Mosquito and Tick Repellent Spray protects against mosquitoes for up to 6 hours, house flies for up to 4 hours and ticks for up to 2 hours.
How long does it protect against ticks?
The current approved label states protection against ticks for up to 2 hours.
Is it applied to skin or clothing?
This is a skin-applied insect repellent spray. The current label states that it must not be applied to belongings. Do not use it on clothing.
How long does it last after opening?
Shelf life after opening is 1 year. Unopened shelf life is 36 months under suitable storage conditions; also check the expiry date on the pack.
Can it be used on children?
Do not use on children under 2. An adult must apply it to children; do not apply to children’s hands.
Can it be used during pregnancy?
No. The current approved label states that it must not be used during pregnancy.
Can it be applied to the face?
Do not spray directly onto the face. Avoid the eyes and mouth. For exposed areas such as the face and neck, apply to your hands first, then spread over the area.
What is DEET?
DEET is the active ingredient in Sinkov Mosquito and Tick Repellent Spray. Its current authorisation specifies 12% w/v.
Can it be used with sunscreen?
The current label gives no specific instructions on this. We cannot recommend an application order or waiting time.
